MSW Consultants is a sole proprietorship management consulting firm that provides advisory services to local governments in the field of solid waste management.
We audit landfills and waste collection companies on behalf of local governments. We conduct cost of service and rate studies for municipal solid waste service providers.
We assist cities in procuring and negotiating solid waste franchise agreements.
We prepare policy and economic analyses for local governments related to their solid waste management programs.
The work is varied and includes:
Auditing waste collection and landfill companies,
Building utility rate models for public agencies;
Performing financial analysis for local government agencies;
Evaluating competitive service proposals from private waste collection firms;
Assisting cities with solid waste-related environmental compliance.
Most of the work will be done in our office in Temecula, California. This position will be ideal for an individual who is located (or willing to relocate) in Western Riverside County or Northern San Diego County. Some travel throughout Southern California will be required.
The ideal candidate will have:
A graduate degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field;
A minimum of four years of experience in accounting, auditing or financial analysis;
Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills;
A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and a good working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
Compensation is negotiable and will be based on the candidate’s experience and expertise. Opportunities for advancement and increased compensation will follow from the individual's success at analyzing information, communicating results and managing client engagements.
