In 2011, we assisted the City in negotiating a new citywide franchise agreement with MarBorg Industries, Inc. (MarBorg). Previously, the City had been served by two haulers (Allied Waste and MarBorg) that served in separate zones of the City. Our work included gathering information from both haulers about their operations in Goleta, analyzing rate and service information, and determining the total amount of citywide waste collection revenue. We also assisted in developing a negotiation strategy, preparing counter-offers, and preparing sections of the new franchise agreement.
