AB 939 Compliance Assistance Solid Waste Contract Negotiation Assistance Program Planning Review of Hauler Permit Application
In 2001, we assisted the City with AB 939 compliance. Work included correcting the City’s waste diversion rate and implementing waste reduction programs in accordance with a Compliance Order from the California Integrated Waste Management Board. In 2006, we assisted the City with negotiations with its two incumbent haulers for semi-exclusive refuse collection agreements. We conducted policy workshops for the City’s Public Works and Traffic Commission, prepared contract and RFP documents, and assisted with contract negotiations. In 2009, we assisted the City in evaluating the advantages and disadvantages of exclusive vs. non-exclusive service. Our work included policy presentations to the City Council and Public Works and Traffic Commission.
